BRYAN, Texas _ University of Central Arkansas' Lewis George shot an opening round 73 on Monday at the NCAA College Station Regional being played at the Traditions Golf Club.
   George, a junior from Cheshire, England, shot 1-over 73 and stands tied for 22nd place among the 72 golfers. George was 1-under through 12 holes after birdies at Nos. 10 and 12 before bogeys on his final two holes of the day pushed him to 1-over.
   Texas A&M golfers Chandler Phillips and Brandon Smith, playing on their home course, joined Baylor's Cooper Dossey, with the best rounds of the day at 4-under 68 to lead the field. A&M has a three-stroke lead over Baylor in the team standings, followed by Clemson, UCLA and South Carolina rounding out the top five.

   George is one of 10 golfers who qualified as individuals in the regional.
   Round 2 is set for Tuesday.
