Conway – Central Arkansas head men's soccer coach Ross Duncan announced the newest additions to the men's soccer program on Thursday. The class covers the entire field, consisting of five midfielders, a keeper, a forward, and a defender, and comes from all over the nation, including players from Utah, North Carolina, Oklahoma, Texas, and Mississippi.
Duncan was, who is excited about the class, was quick to credit his staff for their hard work on the recruiting trail, saying, "First and foremost, I'd like to thank Ryan (Webb)and Michael (Gerard) for their hard work in helping put this class together. The amount of effort put in on the sideline of games, on the phone to coaches, parents, recruits, and getting all the follow-up taken care of has been tremendous. We've got an unbelievable staff here and that quality is reflected in this recruiting class. Having Ryan spearhead the recruiting efforts and getting valuable help from Mike along the way was integral in making all of this happen."
Of the class, Duncan had to say: "While we've got an excellent group in-house right now, one that is ready to go out and win games, these incoming players will help add to the mix right away. The number one quality we look for in our recruits is character, and I believe we've nailed it with this group. We have also addressed some positional needs, added depth at some positions, and added overall quality to an already strong group. The new guys have 6 months to try and catch up to what the current players are doing and be ready for preseason. It's going to be a difficult task though, as I've never seen a group work as hard as our guys are right now. I'm excited to see how we look in August."
